#Sanctification #CleansedByTheBloodOfJesus #Purification #ToBeMadeHoly #Consecration #Regeneration #BornAgain #SetApart #Romans 6:22-23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (original name in Hebrew: Yeshua Hamashiach) our Lord.
2.1) In Romans 6:22-23, our heavenly Father explains through apostle Paul that sanctification is only through the blood of Jesus Christ (original name in Hebrew: Yeshua Hamashiach) . There is no other way.
(NOTE: sanctification= The action of making or declaring something holy / purification)
Therefore without Jesus (Yeshua), SANCTIFICATION CANNOT TAKE PLACE.
2.2) Paul highlights in today’s reading that the way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach).
2.3) QUESTION: Now why is it that we can only be sanctified by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua)?
ANSWER: Reason being sanctification happens when Jesus (Yeshua) died on the cross:-
QUESTION: How?
ANSWER: His blood cleanses our sins:-
Hebrews 13:12 So Jesus (Yeshua) also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
1 Peter 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) and for sprinkling with his blood.
2.4) Through sanctification:-
2.4.1) Our spiritual eyes will be opened.
2.4.2) We will be able to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.
2.4.3) We will receive the forgiveness of sins.
2.4.4) We will receive a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus (Yeshua).
Acts 26:18 “to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me (Me)”
2.5) Sanctification is a continuous process because as human as we are, as we live day by day, we need to be continually grow in:-
2.5.1) GODLINESS
2.5.2) OBEDIENCE
This is to allow God to transform us into the image of Jesus (Yeshua).
2.6) After being saved, we ARE REQUIRED to bear the Fruit of the Spirit:-
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT:-
1. love (unselfish concern for others)
2. joy (inner)
3. peace
4. longsuffering (patience – not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting)
5. gentleness
6. goodness
7. faith (to have faith in God; to trust God)
8. meekness (humbleness)
9. temperance (self-control)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Anything that is not listed in the list of The Fruit of the Spirit is definitely not from God. This is the wisdom and discernment that God has given to us.
Being able to bear the Fruit of the Spirit is an evidence that we have been sanctified by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua). This is because we no longer do or say the things which is not from God.
Example #1: love
If we have love for others, then there is evidence of sanctification that has taken place.
Example #2: joy
If we have joy in our hearts, then there is evidence of sanctification that has taken place.
Example #3: peace
If we have peace in our minds, then there is evidence of sanctification that has taken place.
In Mark 11:12-25, Jesus (Yeshua) cursed and destroyed the fig tree that did not bear any fruits. Likewise, God will reject us if we do not bear the Fruit of the Spirit.
2.7) We are REQUIRED to be believers of Jesus (Yeshua) to be sanctified. If we do not confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus (Yeshua) from the dead, we are not a true believer then. There is no sanctification (the process of being made holy and righteous) for those who do not believe and confess that Jesus is Lord:-
Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
God declared that Jesus is His Son and that ONLY THROUGH HIS SON JESUS (YESHUA), WE CAN HAVE ETERNAL AND BE SET FREE FROM SIN:-
Matthew 3:17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
John 3:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him believeth (believes in Him) should not perish, but have everlasting (eternal) life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn (disapprove) the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him (believes [and] decided to trust Him [as personal Savior and Lord]) is not condemned: but he that believeth not believeth (but he that does not believe) is condemned already, because he hath (has) not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Read this again in verse 18 >>>> “but he that believeth not believeth (but he that does not believe) is condemned already“
We need to be very careful as there are teachings out there that keep asking us to believe only in God or there is only one God so and there is no mention of Jesus (Yeshua). The very act of omitting Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) simply means not believing in Jesus (Yeshua) as the Son of God as well as God Himself.
(NOTE: omit = To fail to include or mention; leave out)
Here are 2 types of non-believers of Christ (Hamashiach, The Anointed One) or antiChrist:-
TYPE #1: They say “I believe in god.”
Notice the small letter ‘g’. The god they are referring to is not the true living God.
TYPE #2: They say “I believe in God. Jesus is not the Son of God and God Himself. He is a prophet / messenger of God.”
2.8) Also, we are REQUIRED to be set apart so God can use us as His vessels (instruments) to do His will (His wishes):-
2 Timothy 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
2.9) After being sanctified by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua), regeneration process begins toward being a BORN AGAIN believer.
(NOTE: regeneration = The formation of a new person after the sins had been cleansed by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua))
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) our Saviour;
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
2.10) We are REQUIRED to be BORN AGAIN.
John 3:3 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3) A = APPLICATION – Explain how this scripture can be applied in our lives.
Let us remind ourselves to allow God to SANCTIFY US THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST (YESHUA HAMASHIACH).
Self test / self examination / self reflection questions that we should ask ourselves:-
4) P = PRAYER – Pray (speak to Abba Father) accordingly to the scripture and ask Him to show us how we can apply the scripture in our lives.
# PRAYER: Abba Father, we want to remind ourselves to BE SANCTIFIED THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS (YESHUA). We want to be obedient to You and not to omit Jesus (Yeshua) in our lives. We pray that our words and actions display the evidence that we have been sanctified (made holy) by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua) so others can see Jesus (Yeshua) in us.
Amen.
So this is my encouragement to all of you today from today’s reading. All glory to God.
Thank you for reading with us.
