A) INTRODUCTION: WHAT IS THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD?

(NOTE: ARMOR = American English spelling, ARMOUR = British English spelling)

The Whole Armor of God is a phrase found the Holy Bible. It was written by the apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans in the sixth book of the New Testament called Ephesians (Ephesians 6). It serves as a guide for us to be defy / resist Satan’s attacks by being spiritually fully equipped with the spiritual weapons that our heavenly Father has provided us to wear.

The Word of God clearly stated that we are at war constantly with Satan:-

Ephesians 6:12 – King James Version (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities (rulers and authorities of evil and malicious spirits from Satan), against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1 Peter 5:8 King James Version (KJV)
Be sober (not drunk), be vigilant (alert); because your adversary (enemy) the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about (walks around), seeking whom he may devour (eat, destroy):

Therefore we need spiritual weapons to fight the spiritual warfare.

As children of Yah and believers in Christ, we MUST remember that we have been given the authority over the enemy (Satan / the Devil / Lucifer). Victory belongs to God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach):-

1 Corinthians 15:57 King James Version (KJV)
But thanks be to God, which giveth (who gives) us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

B) THE DEFEAT OF SATAN

Revelation 20:7-12 King James Version (KJV)

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

(NOTE: Satan = Lucifer / Devil / Diablo in Spanish / Father of Lies / serpent / the enemy / Prince of the Air / Dragon / Beast / Antichrist)

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

C) STUDYING THROUGH THE S.O.A.P METHOD:-

1) SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 6:10-20 King James Version (KJV)

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, my brethren (fellow believers), be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye (you) may be able to stand against the wiles (cunning plans/schemes/tricks) of the devil.

(NOTE: devil = Satan / Lucifer / Devil / Diablo in Spanish / Serpent / Dragon / Father of Lies / Beast / Fallen Angel / prince of the air / Antichrist)

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities (rulers and authorities of evil and malicious spirits from Satan), against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye (you) may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt (encircle and tie your waist with a belt or band) about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye (you) shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication (prayer) for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Again, please, we plead EVERYONE to read the Bible daily and to meditate on His Words. Do not depend on others. WE WILL PERISH IF WE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE! The WORD OF GOD is our SWORD! We cannot go for battle if we are not well equipped! We will get ourselves in danger and will be killed by the enemy (Satan) if our knowledge in the Word of God is weak!:-

Hosea 4:6 King James Version (KJV)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast (you have) rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee (you), that thou shalt (you shall) be no priest to me: seeing thou hast (you have) forgotten the law of thy (your) God, I will also forget thy (your) children.

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God! It will keep us from having sinful urges and be overcomers. If you want to be able to overcome sins and depression, then you need read & study the Word of God daily. Do not just read random scriptures daily but make sure you read it entirely in 1 year’s time or 2 years’ time. The more you abide (remain) in it, the more you will be able to overcome sins and depression:-

Galatians 5:16-26 King James Version (KJV)

Walking in the Spirit

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye (you) shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth (lusts which is) against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye (you) cannot do the things that ye (you) would.

18 But if ye (you) be led of the Spirit, ye (you) are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

(NOTE: adultery = Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse)

(NOTE: fornication = Sexual intercourse between people not married to each other)

(NOTE: lasciviousness = sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality)

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings (great enjoyments), and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness (Humbleness), temperance (self-control): against such [things] there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit [practicing Biblical daily living actions in the journey of life].

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory (proud), provoking one another, envying one another.

Last but not least…

EXTRA NOTE:-

I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (v19 & v20)
= it means we must be brave, bold and courageous AMBASSADORS (representatives) for Christ as God’s children:-

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

3) APPLICATION

3.1) HOW DO WE WEAR THE WHOLE / FULL ARMOR OF GOD?:-

1) QUESTION: How do we put on Belt of Truth (v14)?

By knowing what is the truth. What is the Truth? Jesus (Yeshua) is:-

John 14:6 King James Version (KJV)

2) QUESTION: How to put on the Breastplate of Righteousness (v14)?

We must remind ourselves to always wear integrity or to be made right morally:-

EXAMPLE #1: In the choices of the words we use:-

Matthew 15:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen (unwashed) hands defileth not (does not defile) a man.

James 3:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth (proceeds) blessing and cursing. My brethren (fellow believers), these things ought (should) not so to be.

11 Doth (Does) a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren (fellow believers, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

EXAMPLE #2: In the choices of the clothes / apparel / outfits we wear:-

1 Timothy 2:9-10 New King Kames Version (NKJV)
in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

Deuteronomy 22:5 New King Kames Version (NKJV)
“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.

EXAMPLE #3: In the choices of what we watch to allow bad thoughts:-

Matthew 5:28 King James Version (KJV)
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh (looks) on a woman to lust after her hath (has) committed adultery with her already in his heart.

We must always seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness:-

Matthew 6:33 Amplified Bible (AMP)
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

We must repent sincerely from all our sins and choose to sin no more:-

1 John 1:9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].

3) QUESTION: How do we put on Feet with the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace (v15)?

We must obey God’s commandment to spread the gospel, to teach, baptize them and make disciples (Matthew 28:19).

4) QUESTION: How do we put on Shield of Faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one (v16)?

We must remind ourselves to always have faith in God fully and never allow any doubts to enter our minds.
We must remember that faith pleases God and have total faith in Him. We must not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

5) QUESTION: How to put on the Helmet of Salvation (v17)?

We remember that the Gift of Salvation is from God (Romans 6:23).
We must guard our salvation by doing God’s will, fearing and obeying Him (Matthew 7:21).
We must love God zealously (Matthew 22:37-38), love others as ourselves (Matthew 22:39-40), hate evil and all unrighteousness (Proverbs 8:13).
We must choose to fix our thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely & admirable (Philippians 4:8).

6) QUESTION: How do we put on the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (v17)?

We must remind ourselves that all scripture is from You to guide us to be righteous (2 Timothy 3:16).
We must abide (remain in place) in God’s Word daily because we are believers (John 5:38).
We must remember that God’s Word is our weapon, our sword, a lamp to our feet, a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
We must store up God’s Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11).

7) QUESTION: How do we put on ‘Praying without stopping, pray for believers > An authorized messenger / representative’ (v18)?

We must remind ourselves to pray earnestly without ceasing always. We must give thanks to God in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
We must thank God for the power given to us over all the power of the enemy and protection (Luke 10:19).

D) SPRITUAL WARFARE STRATEGIES:-

QUESTION: How to defeat Satan?

ANSWER:-

Revelation 12:11 King James Version (KJV)
And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The formula in Revelation 12:11 consists of three (3) things in order to defeat Satan:-

BLOOD OF YESHUA + OUR TESTIMONIES + BEING NOT AFRAID TO DIE FOR GOD = TO OVERCOME THE ENEMY / SATAN / DEVIL

QUESTION: How to apply the blood of Jesus (Yeshua)?

ANSWER:-

Believe in God, Jesus (Yeshua) & the Holy Spirit, confess that “Jesus (Yeshua) is Lord”, read God’s Word, study and understand God’s Word, keep His Word, obey His Word, do God’s will & stay in Him:-

1 John 2:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

5 But whoso keepeth (keeps) His word, in Him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him.

6 He that saith he abideth (He that says he abides / remains) in Him ought (should) himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Therefore, always apply the blood of Jesus (Yeshua) and share our testimonies, give thanks to God and give Him all the glory.

QUESTION: How can we have testimonies to share to others?

ANSWERS:-

  1. By defeating Satan’s tricks with Full Armor of God that we put on.
  2. By announcing publicly with our mouth the blessings that our heavenly Father has given to us.

EXAMPLES:-

2.1) being able to wake up

2.2) being able to eat

2.3) being able to walk

  1. By announcing publicly the miracles that our heavenly Father has done for us.

EXAMPLES:-

3.1) How God helped you to recover from a sickness.

3.2) How God answered your prayers or how God protected you from harm and etc.

Whenever we share our testimonies, we are actually confessing that we have been blessed by our heaven Father because we are His children. We give glory to His name through the sharing of our testimonies.

This is why it is very important for us to share our testimonies as often as we can.

QUESTION: How not to be afraid to die for God?

ANSWERS:-

1) By making sure that we live a life that is approved & acceptable by God:-

Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye (you) transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye (you) may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

2) By knowing that when we live as born again believers of Christ on Earth, after dying physically, our souls be granted eternal life in heaven.

Philippians 1:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

John 3:15-18 King James Version (KJV)

For God So Loved the World

15 That whosoever believeth (believes) in him should not perish [destroyed; suffer eternal death in hell], but have eternal life ([after physical death, and will actually live forever]).

16 For God [Yah / Adonai] so loved the world, that he gave his (that He gave His) only begotten Son (Yeshua), that whosoever believeth in him (believes in Him) should not perish, but have everlasting (eternal) life.

17 For God [Yah / Adonai] sent not his (His) Son into the world to condemn (disapprove) the world; but that the world through him (Him) might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him (believes [and] decided to trust Him [as personal Savior and Lord]) is not condemned: but he that believeth not believeth (but he that does not believe) is condemned already, because he hath (has) not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Yeshua).

You Must Be Born Again

John 3:3 King James Version (KJV)
Jesus (Yeshua) answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee (Truly, truly, I say to you), Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (kingdom of heaven).

(NOTE: born again = Reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified, repented; stopped sinning / repeating the same sin and having the evidence of spiritual characteristic transformation)
