Paul Before the Council (continuation)
23 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council (looking intently at the Council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court)), said, Men and brethren (brothers), I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite (strike) him on the mouth.
3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee (strike you), thou whited wall (you whitewashed wall!): for sittest thou (you sit) to judge me after the law, and commandest (command) me to be smitten (stricken) contrary to the law?
4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou (Are you insulting) God’s high priest?
5 Then said Paul, I wist not (I was not aware), brethren (brothers), that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not (You shall not) speak evil of the ruler of thy (your) people.
6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren (brothers), I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
(NOTE: Pharisees = a Jewish group that separated from other Jews and followed the oral law of the Old Testament)
7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension (disagreement) between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude (crowd) was divided.
(NOTE: Sadducees = Members of a Jewish sect or party of the time of Jesus Christ that denied the resurrection of the dead, the existence of spirits, and the obligation of oral tradition, emphasizing acceptance of the written Law alone. They did not believe in any Scripture beyond the Torah, [the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy]. According to them, the Torah’s laws alone should be observed. The scripture below confirms that the Sadducees do not believe in resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit – Acts 23:8)
8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath (has) spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
(NOTE: scribes = Jewish learned leaders trained to write and teach the Torah, the law of God)
10 And when there arose a great dissension (disagreement), the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
11 And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast (you have) testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou (you) bear witness also at Rome.
The Plan to Kill Paul
12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together (formed a conspiracy), and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
13 And they were more than forty (> 40) which had made this conspiracy (secret plan).
14 And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain (killed) Paul.
15 Now therefore ye (you) with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow (tomorrow), as though ye (you) would enquire something (investigate) more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth (thunders) : the Lord is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the Lord breaketh (breaks) the cedars; yea (yes), the Lord breaketh (breaks) the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He maketh (makes) them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn (wild ox).
7 The voice of the Lord divideth (divides) the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shaketh (shakes) the wilderness; the Lord shaketh (shakes) the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve (makes the doe labor and give birth), and discovereth (discovers) the forests: and in his temple doth (does) every one speak of his glory.
10 The Lord sitteth (sits) upon the flood; yea (yes), the Lord sitteth (sits) King for ever.

A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David
30 I will extol thee (magnify You), O Lord; for thou hast (You have) lifted me up, and hast (have) not made my foes (enemies) to rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee (You), and thou hast (You have) healed me.
3 O Lord, thou hast (You have) brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast (You have) kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit (hell).
4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye (you) saints of his (His), and give thanks at the remembrance of his (His) holiness.
5 For his (His) anger endureth (endures) but a moment; in his (His) favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh (comes) in the morning.
6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
7 Lord, by thy (Your) favour thou hast (You have) made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst (You did) hide thy (Your) face, and I was troubled.
8 I cried to thee (You), O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication (appeal / prayer).
9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit (hell)? Shall the dust praise thee (You)? shall it declare thy (Your) truth?
10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou (You) my helper.
11 Thou hast (You have) turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast (You have) put off my sackcloth, and girded (secured / clothed) me with gladness;
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee (You), and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee (to You) for ever.

THE ORGINAL HEBREW NAME OF THE MESSIAH
The video below is done by a Jewish Hebrew language lady teacher. Her name is Ayelet. She is born and raised in Israel. Hebrew is her native language. In this video, we will be able to learn the correct pronunciation of the Messiah’s original name in Hebrew:-
VIDEO: Jesus – Yeshua in Hebrew – Hebrew Word of the Day (59 secs) – by The WORD in HEBREW
In Hebrew: מָשִׁיחַ (H4899) = Mashiach = Messiah (English) / Anointed One
In Hebrew (full name): יְהוֹשׁוּעַ הַמָשִׁיחַ = Yahushua Ha-Mashiach = Yahushua The Anointed One.
NOTES:-
1. Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (H3442 = He will save) is a shortened form of Yehoshooah / Yahushua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H3091 = God / Yah saves). EXAMPLE #1: Mike is a shortened form of Michael. EXAMPLE #2: Josh is a shortened form of Joshua.
2. Yehoshooah as spelt in this manner depicts Joshua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H3091 = yeh-ho-SHOO-ah) adds Hosea, יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H1954 = deliver / salvation). Therefore, Yehoshooah / Yahushua means God is Salvation God / Yah saves.
3. Yahushua as spelt in this manner depicts that the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה / יָהּ (H3050) as in John 5:43).
4. Yahusha as spelt in this manner depicts that the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה / יָהּ (H3050) adds Yasha יָשַׁע (H3467 )
