Abram’s Return to Beth-el

13 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;

Unto the place of the altar, which he had make there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

Abram and Lot Separate

And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together (for their possessions were too great for them to stay together).

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled (lived) then in the land.

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife (conflict), I pray thee (you), between me and thee (you), and between my herdmen and thy (your) herdmen; for we be brethren (because we are relatives).

Is not the whole land before thee (in front of you)? separate thyself (yourself), I pray thee (you), from me: if thou wilt (you will) take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart (you leave) to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), like the land of Egypt, as thou comest (you come) unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled (lived) in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled (lived) in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom (in the cities of the valley and camped as far as Sodom and lived there).

13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) exceedingly.

God (Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) Renews His Covenant

14 And the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine (your) eyes, and look from the place where thou art (you are) northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15 For all the land which thou seest (you see), to thee (you) will I give it, and to thy seed (your descendants) for ever.

16 And I will make thy (your) as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed (your descendants) also be numbered.

17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee (you).

18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt (lived) in the plain of Mamre [the Amorite], which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

The Battle of the Kings

14 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea (Sea of Salt).

Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.

And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt (lived) in Hazezontamar.

And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

Lot’s Capture and Rescue

12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt (lived) in Sodom, and his goods (merchandise / stock / inventory / things), and departed (left).

13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt (lived) in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate (partner / accomplice) with Abram.

14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote (attacked) them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.

Melchizedek Blesses Abram

18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God (Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God (Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), possessor of heaven and earth:

20 And blessed be the most high God (Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), which hath delivered thine (has delivered your) enemies into thy (your) hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself (yourself).

22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine (my) hand unto the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), the most high God (Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), the possessor of heaven and earth,

23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet (a strap used to fasten a sandal to the foot), and that I will not take any thing that is thine (yours), lest thou shouldest say (for fear that you should say), I have made Abram rich:

24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

Abram’s Vision

15 After these things the word (Word) of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy (your) shield, and thy (your) exceeding great reward.

And Abram said, Lord God (Adonai Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), what wilt thou (will you) give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward (manager / overseer) of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

And Abram said, Behold (See), to me thou hast given (you have given) no seed (child): and, lo (look), one born in my house is mine heir (my beneficiary).

Abram Promised an Heir

And, behold (see), the word (Word) of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir (your beneficiary); but he that shall come forth out (come out of) of thine (your) own bowels (body) shall be thine heir (your beneficiary).

And he (He) brought him (Abram) forth abroad (outside), and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be (if you are) able to number them: and he (He) said unto him, So shall thy seed (your descendants) be.

And he believed in the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); and he counted it to him for righteousness.

The Covenant Renewed

And he said unto him, I am the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) that brought thee (you) out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee (you) this land to inherit it.

And he said, Lord God (Adonai Elohim / Aluahym; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

And he (He) said unto him, Take me an heifer (young cow) of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram (male sheep) of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

10 And he took unto him (Him) all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not (but he did not divide the birds).

11 And when the fowls (birds) came down upon the carcases (the dead body of the animals), Abram drove them away.

Abram’s Deep Sleep and Vision

12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo (look), an (a) horror of great darkness fell upon him.

13 And he (He) said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed (Know for sure that your descendants) shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict (enslave and oppress) them four hundred years;

14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance (possessions).

(NOTE: nation (noun) = A relatively large group of people organized under a single, usually independent government; a country. It is also used as a metaphor symbolizing those who do not believe in God [𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah]; heathen / pagan / idolaters)

15 And thou shalt (you shall) go to thy (your) fathers in peace; thou shalt (you shall) be buried in a good old age.

16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither (to this place) again: for the iniquity (sin) of the Amorites is not yet full.

17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

(NOTE: furnace (noun) = an enclosed structure in which heat is produced (as for heating a house or for industrial processes like melting metals)

18 In the same day the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) made a covenant (agreement) with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed (your descendants) have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

(NOTE: Euphrates (proper noun) = The Euphrates is the longest and one of the most historically important rivers of Western Asia. Together with the Tigris, it is one of the two defining rivers of Mesopotamia. DIFFERENT SPELLING VERSIONS OF THE MESSIAH:-

Here are the explanations:-

1. SPELLING VERSION #1:-

Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (Hebrew 3442) means He will save. It is a shortened form of Yehoshooah / Yahushua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (Hebrew 3091) = God saves. EXAMPLE #1: Mike is a shortened form of Michael. EXAMPLE #2: Josh is a shortened form of Joshua.

QUESTION: Does anyone like their name to be shortened? ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: Were our names shortened in any legal documents? ANSWER: No.

2. SPELLING VERSION #2:-

Yehoshooah / Yehushua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (Hebrew 3091) as spelled in this manner with the niqqud as a pronunciation guide.

QUESTION: If the Messiah came in the name of His Father (Yah) as in John 5:43, will it make sense that the Messiah’s name be “Yehoshooah” / “Yehushua” / “Yehusha”? ANSWER: No.

3. SPELLING VERSION #3:-

Yahushua יהושוע (Hebrew 3091) as spelled in this manner (without the niqqud) depicts the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה (Hebrew 3050) means The Creator. Yahushua means Yah [I] cry out.

Yah יה (Hebrew 3050) is made of י (y = Yad) & הּ (ah = Hay) which means YAH (יה = The Creator),

u ו (u = Uau) = add

shua שוע (Hebrew 7769) = to cry out > ש (sh = Shan / Shin) + u ו (u = Uau) + ע (a = Ayin)

4. SPELLING VERSION #4:-

Yahusha (יהושע) as spelled in this manner (without the niqqud) depicts the Messiah came in the name of His Father and according to the original Pictographic Hebrew. Yahusha means Yahuah saves.

Yah יה (Hebrew 3050) is made of י (y = Yad) & הּ (ah = Hay) which means YAH (יה = The Creator),

u ו (u = Uau) = add

sha שע (sh = Shan / Shin) + ע (a = Ayin) (NOTE: The ‘sha‘ here comes from the root word Yasha)

ROOT WORD: Yasha ישע (Hebrew 3467) = to save / deliver / rescue > י (y = Yad) & הּ (ah = Hay) + ש (sh = Shan / Shin) + ע (a = Ayin).
