How to share your points by using the S.O.A.P method

When preparing our points, we are NOT supposed to re-tell the scriptures or passages in our own words verse by verse. Rather, we are supposed to present gist (main point or essential part of that day’s reading only) for the OBSERVATION and APPLICATION.

And when leading the group in a PRAYER part, use “We” instead of “I”.  Use “us” instead of “me”. This is because we are getting everyone to pray along as a group instead of praying just for ourselves.

EXAMPLE correct way of praying when leading a group in prayer:-

We pray for wisdom. Please use us to guide others to come back to You. In all these, we give thanks and pray in the name of Yahusha our Messiah. Amen”

EXAMPLE wrong way of praying when leading a group in prayer. The example below is only suitable when you are praying alone and praying for yourself:-

I pray for wisdom. Please use me to guide others to come back to You. In all these, I give thanks and pray in the name of Yahusha my Messiah. Amen”

So here is a complete set example on how we share our points by using the S.O.A.P method:-

EXAMPLE (the complete set):-

1) S = SCRIPTURE – Write down the scripture verse / verses / passage that spoke to your heart.

# SCRIPTURE: John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he (He) gave his (His) only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (believes) in him (Him; Yahusha) should not perish, but have everlasting life.

2) O = OBSERVATION – Explain what is your observation for instructions and understanding of what God is telling us to do in the verse or passage. Are there any commandments / instructions from our heavenly Father / our Messiah Yahusha / the Holy Spirit?

# OBSERVATION: My observation is that God loves us so much and the only way to be saved from being condemned into hell is by believing that Jesus (Yahusha) is truly God’s Son.

3) A = APPLICATION – Explain how this scripture can be applied in our lives.

# APPLICATION: We need to believe that Jesus (Yahusha) is truly God’s Son to have eternal life and be save from being condemned to hell.

4) P = PRAYER – Pray (speak to Abba Father) according to the scripture and ask Him to show us how we can apply the scripture in our lives.

#PRAYER: Father God, thank you for sending Your only Son, Jesus Christ (Yahusha HaMashiach) to save us from being condemned to hell. We are so grateful.
