# THE SCRIPTURE THAT SPOKE TO MY HEART:-
#HowToPray #HowToPrayAsAChristian # TheImportanceOfPraying #PrayingInTongues #PrayingInSpirit #BaptismOfTheHolySpirit #Philippians 4:6
In Philippians 4:6, our heavenly Father explains through apostle Paul that we are not supposed to worry about anything but handle everything in prayer with thanksgiving and let God know our needs.
2.1) QUESTION #1: Why is prayer so important?
ANSWER #1: Prayer is extremely important because God listens to us when we pray. We are communicating with Him when we pray:-
Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
2.2) QUESTION #2: How often should we pray?
ANSWER #2: We must pray constantly and without ceasing:-
Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing
2.3) QUESTION #3: How do we pray and where do we pray?
ANSWER #3: We pray continuously, earnestly, actively, zealously, staying alert and with a grateful, thankful attitude, not showing off to others and not using repetitions of words to make the prayer long.
Although it is not wrong to pray together with fellow believers, Jesus taught us that it is best to pray in our own prayer closet privately:-
Example #1: Jesus prayed with his disciples in John 17
Example #2: The Upper Room Prayer Meeting at Mount Olivet which is near Jerusalem after Jesus ascended to Heaven (Acts 1:12-14).
Colossians 4:2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Matthew 6:5-8 (KJV)
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
2.4) QUESTION #4: What do we say when we pray?
ANSWER #4: Prayer guide given by our Lord Jesus (The Lord’s Prayer):-
THE LORD’S PRAYER (NKJV)
Matthew 6:9-13
~ BEGIN OF THE LORD’S PRAYER ~
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
~ END OF THE LORD’S PRAYER ~

There are 150 books of Psalms which we can learn how to pray as well. David wrote 75 Psalms.
2.5) QUESTION #5: What can we do when we run out of words during prayer time?
ANSWER #5: We can then go to the next level of praying by praying in spirt / praying in tongues as the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) guides. Every believer in Christ should be baptized in the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) besides being baptized in the water. One of the evidence of being baptized in the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) is being able to pray in spirit / tongues:-
Acts 2:4 (KJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
2.6) QUESTION #6: Who is the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost)?
ANSWER #6: The Holy Sprit is a person and God Himself. The Holy Spirit was sent by God just like how He sent Jesus Christ to save us. He (the Holy Spirit) is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, Standby, Teacher of whom will help us remember everything that Jesus had taught us:-
John 14:26 Amplified Bible (AMP) Let us read:- But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
2.7) QUESTION #7: What is the purpose of baptism in the Holy Spirit?
ANSWER #7: Baptism with the Holy Spirit is to empower and to equip Spirit-filled believers with the gifts of the Holy Spirit:-
Isaiah 11:2 (KJV) and the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD
1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (KJV)
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit in point form:-
- wisdom
- understanding
- counsel
- might
- knowledge
- the fear of the Lord
- healing
- the working of miracles

2.8) QUESTION #8: How to receive baptism of the Holy Spirit?
ANSWER #8: Pray and ask from our heavenly Father. You can pray this way:-
PRAYER: “Thank you Father God for the promise to send the Holy Spirit to all those who believe in Jesus. I have believed and received Jesus, and now I ask you for the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
Simply believe by faith, accept it and utter your prayer without trying. Try listening to another person praying in spirit and just pray along. Just let go and the Holy Spirit take over.
