The Temple of the Living God (Elohim) (continuation)

7 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (Elohim; Yahuah).

Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye (you) are in our hearts to die and live with you.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation (great suffering).

Paul’s Joy at the Church’s Repentance

For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

Nevertheless God (Elohim; Yahuah), that comforteth (comforts) those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest (intense) desire, your mourning, your fervent (passionate) mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath (letter has) made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

Now I rejoice, not that ye (you) were made sorry, but that ye (you) sorrowed to repentance: for ye (you) were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye (you) might receive damage by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow worketh (works) repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh (works) death.

(NOTE: repentance (noun) = the action of having a change of mind regarding sins, of regretting and changing one’s wrongdoing or sin, the fact of showing that you are very sorry [being remorseful] for something bad you have done in the past, and wish that you had not done it which leads to asking God for forgiveness and stop repeating the same sin; penitence)

11 For behold (See) this selfsame (exact same) thing, that ye (you) sorrowed after a godly sort (sorrow), what carefulness it wrought (has produced) in you, yea (yes), what clearing of yourselves (justification), yea (yes), what indignation (anger [at sin]), yea (yes), what fear what vindication of yourselves [against charges that you tolerate sin], what indignation [at sin], what fear, yea (yes), what vehement desire (longing [for righteousness and justice]), yea (yes), what zeal (passion), yea (yes), what revenge! In all things ye (you) have approved yourselves to be clear (innocent) in this matter.

12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God (Elohim; Yahuah) might appear unto you.

13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea (yes), and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

14 For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake (spoke) all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth (while he remembers)  the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye (you) received him.

16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

19 Better is the poor that walketh (walks) in his integrity, than he that is perverse (twisted) in his lips, and is a fool.

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth (and he who hurries with his feet [acting impulsively and proceeding without caution or analyzing the consequences] sins (misses the mark)).

The foolishness of man perverteth (corrupts) his way: and his heart fretteth (is angry) against the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

Wealth maketh (makes) many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh (speaks) lies shall not escape.

Many will intreat the favour of the prince (Many will seek the favor of a generous and noble man): and every man is a friend to him that giveth (give) gifts.

All the brethren (brothers) of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth (pursues) them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

He that getteth (gets) wisdom loveth (loves) his own soul: he that keepeth (keeps) understanding shall find good.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh (speaks) lies shall perish.

10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger (Good sense and discretion make a man slow to anger); and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

12 The king’s wrath (extreme anger) is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

13 A foolish son is the calamity (disaster) of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent (careful) wife is from the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

15 Slothfulness casteth (Laziness casts) into a deep sleep; and an idle (a refusing to work) soul shall suffer hunger.

16 He that keepeth (keeps) the commandment keepeth (keeps)  his own soul; but he that despiseth (despises) his (His) ways shall die.

17 He that hath (has) pity upon the poor lendeth unto (lends to) the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); and that which he hath (He has) given will he pay him again.

18 Chasten thy (Correct your) son while there is hope, and let not thy (your) soul spare for his crying.

19 A man of great wrath (extreme anger) shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver (you rescue) him, yet thou (you) must do it again.

20 Hear counsel (advice), and receive instruction, that thou mayest (you may) be wise in thy (your) latter (final) end.

21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), that shall stand.

22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

23 The fear of the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) tendeth (tends) to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

24 A slothful (lazy) man hideth (hides) his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach (He who assaults his father and chases away his mother is a son who brings shame and disgrace).

27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge (Cease listening, my son, to instruction and discipline and you will stray from the words of knowledge).

28 An ungodly witness scorneth (scorns, mocks)  judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity (consume sin).

29 Judgments are prepared for scorners (mockers), and stripes for the back of fools (and beatings for the backs of [thickheaded] fools).

10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) (Differing weights [one for buying and another for selling] and differing measures, both of them are detestable and offensive to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah)

11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) hath (has) made even both of them.

13 Love not sleep, lest thou (you) come to poverty; open thine (your) eyes, and thou shalt (you shall) be satisfied with bread.

14 It is naught (nothing), it is naught (nothing), saith (says)  the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth (boasts).

15 There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the Lord; and a false balance is not good (Differing weights are detestable and offensive to the 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah, and fraudulent scales are not good).

24 Man’s goings are of the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); how can a man then understand his own way?

21 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will (He turns it whichever way He wishes).

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) pondereth (ponders, examines) the hearts.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) than sacrifice.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
