2 Thessalonians 2

Events Prior to the Lord’s Second Coming
2 Now we beseech (urge) you, brethren (fellow believers), by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Aḏon Yahusha ha’Mashiach), and by our gathering together unto him (Him),
2 That ye (you) be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ (Mashiach) is at hand (near).
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (damnation / condemnation / hell);
4 Who opposeth (opposes) and exalteth (exalts) himself above all that is called God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth (sits) in the temple of God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), shewing himself (showing Himself) that he (He) is God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).
5 Remember ye (you) not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye (you) know what withholdeth (withhold) that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth (sin does) already work: only he who now letteth (lets) will let, until he be taken out of the way.
(AMP Bible: For the mystery of lawlessness [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out of the way.)
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord (Aḏon) shall consume with the spirit (Ruach) of his (His) mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his (His) coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Believers Should Stand Fast
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway (always) to God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) for you, brethren (fellow believers) beloved of the Lord (Aḏon), because God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) hath (has) from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit (Ruach) and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he (He) called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (Aḏon Yahusha ha’Mashiach).
15 Therefore, brethren (fellow believers), stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye (you) have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle (letter).
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ (Aḏon Yahusha ha’Mashiach) himself (Himself), and God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), even our Father, which hath (has) loved us, and hath (has) given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish (establish) you in every good word and work.

56 Thus saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), Keep ye (you) judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth (does) this, and the son of man that layeth (lays) hold on it; that keepeth (keeps) the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth (keeps, refrains) his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath (has) joined himself to the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), speak, saying, The Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) hath utterly (has completely) separated me from his (His) people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold (See), I am a dry tree.
4 For thus saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine (My) house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), to be his servants, every one that keepeth (keeps) the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine (My) altar; for mine (My) house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
8 The Lord God (Adonai Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), which gathereth (who gathers) the outcasts of Israel (Yisrael) saith (says), Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
Sinful Leaders Condemned
9 All ye (you) beasts of the field, come to devour, yea (yes), all ye (you) beasts in the forest.
10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber (sleep).
11 Yea (Yes), they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12 Come ye (you), say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow (tomorrow) shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

57 The righteous perisheth (perishes), and no man layeth (lays) it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
Idolatrous Worship Condemned
3 But draw near hither (here), ye (you) sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore (prostitute).
4 Against whom do ye (you) sport yourselves? against whom make ye (you) a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye (you) not children of transgression (sin), a seed of falsehood.

9 And thou wentest (you went) to the king with ointment, and didst (did) increase thy (your) perfumes, and didst (did) send thy (your) messengers far off, and didst (did) debase thyself (yourself) even unto hell.
10 Thou art (You are) wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not (yet you do not say), There is no hope: thou hast (you have) found the life of thine (your) hand; therefore thou wast (you were) not grieved.
11 And of whom hast thou (have you) been afraid or feared, that thou hast (you have) lied, and hast (have) not remembered me, nor laid it to thy (your) heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not (and you do not fear Me)?
12 I will declare thy (your) righteousness, and thy (your) works; for they shall not profit thee (you).
13 When thou criest (you cry), let thy (your) companies deliver thee (you); but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth (puts) his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy (qodesh) mountain;

14 And shall say, Cast ye (you) up, cast ye (you) up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock (stumbling block) out of the way of my people.
15 For thus saith (says) the high and lofty (exalted) One that inhabiteth (inhabits) eternity, whose name is Holy (Qodesh); I dwell (live) in the high and holy (qodesh) place, with him also that is of a contrite (remorseful) and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite (remorseful) ones.
16 For I will not contend (challenge) for ever, neither will I be always wroth (angry): for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
17 For the iniquity (sin) of his covetousness was I wroth (angry), and smote (struck) him: I hid me, and was wroth (angry), and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart (and he went on turning away and backsliding, in the way of his [own willful] heart).
18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); and I will heal him.
20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace, saith (says) my God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), to the wicked.

58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy (your) voice like a trumpet, and shew (show) my people their transgression (sin), and the house of Jacob (Ya’aqob) their sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah): they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest (you see) not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest (you take) no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye (you) find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4 Behold, ye (you) fast for strife and debate, and to smite (strike) with the fist of wickedness: ye (you) shall not fast as ye (you) do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah)?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye (you) break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy (your) bread to the hungry, and that thou (you) bring the poor that are cast out to thy (your) house? when thou seest (you see) the naked, that thou (you) cover him; and that thou hide not thyself (yourself) from thine (your) own flesh?
8 Then shall thy (your) light break forth as the morning, and thine (your) health shall spring forth speedily: and thy (your) righteousness shall go before thee (you); the glory of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) shall be thy (your) reward.
9 Then shalt thou (shall you) call, and the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) shall answer; thou shalt (you shall) cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou (you) take away from the midst of thee (you) the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou (you) draw out thy (your) soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy (your) light rise in obscurity (uncertainty / darkness), and thy (your) darkness be as the noon day:
11 And the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) shall guide thee (you)continually, and satisfy thy (your) soul in drought, and make fat thy (your) bones: and thou shalt (you shall) be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
