The Council at Jerusalem

15 And certain men which came down from Judaea (Judea) taught the brethren (fellow believers), and said, Except ye (you) be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye (you) cannot be saved.

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them (Paul and Barnabas disagreed greatly and debated with them), they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren (fellow believers).

(NOTE: Gentiles = anyone who is not of Jewish descent or who does not believe in God)

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

(NOTE: Pharisees = a Jewish group that separated from other Jews and followed the oral law of the Old Testament)

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren (fellow believers), ye (you) know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

And God, which knoweth (who knows) the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit), even as he did unto us;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

10 Now therefore why tempt ye God (Now why do you tempt God), to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ (Yahushua / Yeshua Hamashiach) we shall be saved, even as they.

12 Then all the multitude (crowd) kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought (had done) among the Gentiles by them.

13 And after they had held their peace (When they had finished speaking), James answered, saying, Men and brethren (brothers), hearken unto (pay attention to) me:

14 Simeon hath (has) declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith (says) the Lord, who doeth (does) all these things.

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

(NOTE: idol = An image or representation of a god used as an object of worship)

(NOTE: fornication= Sexual intercourse between people not married to each other)

(NOTE: strangled = having died as a result of having the neck squeezed or constricted)

21 For Moses of old time hath (has) in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

(NOTEHebrew: שַׁבָּת. Transliteration: shabbath. Sabbath = Seventh day / Saturday / Yom Shabbat / Sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. In accordance with Exodus 20:8–11, the seventh day of the week is designated as the Sabbath. The purpose of this day of rest is to remind the children of Israel that God (Yah / Yahuah) created the universe in six days and then rested on the seventh day. Jews observe this holy day of rest (Sabbath day) from sunset on Friday until dusk on the following day)

Elihu Accuses Job of Arrogance

34 Furthermore Elihu answered and said,

Hear my words, O ye (you) wise men; and give ear unto me, ye (you) that have knowledge.

For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat (For the ear puts words to the test
As the palate tastes food).

Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

For Job hath (has) said, I am righteous: and God hath (has) taken away my judgment.

Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression (wrongdoing, sin).

What man is like Job, who drinketh (drinks) up scorning like water?

Which goeth (Who goes) in company with the workers of iniquity (sin), and walketh (walks) with wicked men.

For he hath (has) said, It profiteth (profits) a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

10 Therefore hearken unto (pay attention to) me ye (you) men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity (sin).

11 For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

12 Yea (Yes), surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert (alter) judgment.

13 Who hath (has) given him a charge over the earth? or who hath (has) disposed the whole world?

14 If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

16 If now thou hast (If now you have) understanding, hear this: hearken (pay attention) to the voice of my words.

17 Shall even he that hateth (hates) right govern? and wilt thou (will you) condemn him that is most just?

18 Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art (You are) wicked? and to princes, Ye (You) are ungodly?

19 How much less to him that accepteth not (does not accept) the persons of princes, nor regardeth (regards) the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

20 In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

21 For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth (He sees) all his goings.

22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity (sin) may hide themselves.

23 For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

24 He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead (places).

25 Therefore he knoweth (He knows) their works, and he overturneth (He overturns)  them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

26 He striketh (strikes) them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

27 Because they turned back from him (Him), and would not consider any of his (His) ways:

28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him (Him), and he heareth (He hears) the cry of the afflicted (those who suffer).

29 When he giveth (He gives) quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth (He hides) his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

30 That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared (So that godless men would not rule
Nor be snares for the people).

31 Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement (criticism), I will not offend any more:

32 That which I see not teach thou me (Teach me what I do not see [in regard to how I have sinned]): if I have done iniquity (sin), I will do no more.

33 Should it be according to thy (your) mind? he will recompense (compensate)  it, whether thou (you) refuse, or whether thou (you) choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest (you know).

34 Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto (pay attention to) me.

35 Job hath (has) spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

36 My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.

37 For he addeth (adds) rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth (claps) his hands among us, and multiplieth (multiplies) his words against God.

Elihu Reminds Job of God’s Justice

35 Elihu spake (spoke) moreover, and said,

Thinkest thou (Do you think) this to be right, that thou saidst (you said), My righteousness is more than God’s?

For thou saidst (you said), What advantage will it be unto thee (you)? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

I will answer thee (you), and thy (your) companions with thee (you).

Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou (you).

If thou sinnest (have sinned), what doest thou (did you do) against him? or if thy (your) transgressions (sins) be multiplied, what doest thou (did you do) unto him (Him)?

If thou be (you are) righteous, what givest thou him (what do you give Him)? or what receiveth he of thine hand (Or what does He receive from your hand)?

Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art (Your wickedness affects only a man such as you); and thy righteousness may profit the son of man (And your righteousness affects only a son of man [but it cannot affect God, who is sovereign]).

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

10 But none saith (says), Where is God my maker, who giveth (gives) songs in the night;

11 Who teacheth (teaches) us more than the beasts (animals) of the earth, and maketh (makes) us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

12 There they cry, but none giveth (gives) answer, because of the pride of evil men.

13 Surely God will not hear vanity (empty cry), neither will the Almighty regard it.

14 Although thou sayest thou shalt (Although you say you shall) not see him (Him), yet judgment is before him (Him); therefore trust thou (you) in him (Him).

15 But now, because it is not so, he hath (He has) visited in his (His) anger; yet he knoweth (He knows) it not in great extremity:

16 Therefore doth (does) Job open his mouth in vain (to no purpose); he multiplieth (multiplied) words without knowledge.

THE ORGINAL HEBREW NAME OF THE MESSIAH

The video below is done by a Jewish Hebrew language lady teacher. Her name is Ayelet. She is born and raised in Israel. Hebrew is her native language. In this video, we will be able to learn the correct pronunciation of the Messiah’s original name in Hebrew:-

VIDEO: Jesus – Yeshua in Hebrew – Hebrew Word of the Day (59 secs) – by The WORD in HEBREW

In Hebrew: מָשִׁיחַ (H4899) = Mashiach = Messiah (English) / Anointed One

In Hebrew (full name): יְהוֹשׁוּעַ הַמָשִׁיחַ = Yahushua Ha-Mashiach = Yahushua The Anointed One. NOTE: Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (H3442 = He will save) is a shortened form of Yehoshooah / Yahushua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H3091 = God / Yah saves). Yahushua as spelt in this manner depicts that the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה / יָהּ (H3050) as in John 5:43).

In Greek = Christos

In English = Christ =  Messiah = Anointed One
