Paul’s Charge to Timothy (continuation)

4 I charge thee (you) therefore before God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), and the Lord Jesus Christ (Aḏon Yahushua ha’Mashiach), who shall judge the quick and the dead at his (His) appearing and his (His) kingdom;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort (encourage) with all long suffering (patience) and doctrine (teaching).

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable]).

But watch thou (you) in all things, endure afflictions (sufferings), do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy (your) ministry.

(NOTE: evangelist = A person who seeks to convert others to the Christian faith, especially by public preaching)

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth (In the future) there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord (Aḏon), the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Paul’s Final Words

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me (Make every effort to come to me soon):

10 For Demas hath (has) forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus (Titos) unto Dalmatia.

11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee (you): for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

13 The cloke (cloak, coat) that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest (you come), bring with thee (you), and the books, but especially the parchments.

(NOTE: parchment (noun) = The skin of a sheep or goat prepared as a material on which to write or paint)

14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord (Aḏon) reward him according to his works:

15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words (Be on guard against him yourself, because he vigorously opposed our message).

16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) that it may not be laid to their charge.

17 Notwithstanding the Lord (Aḏon) stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 And the Lord (Aḏon) shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his (His) heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Paul’s Final Greetings

19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus abode (remained) at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

21 Do thy (your) diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee (greets you), and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

22 The Lord Jesus Christ (Aḏon Yahushua ha’Mashiach) be with thy (your) spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

Jeremiah and Pashur

20 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.

Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah).

And it came to pass on the morrow (the next day), that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) hath (has) not called thy (your) name Pashur, but Magormissabib.

For thus saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), Behold, I will make thee (you) a terror to thyself (yourself), and to all thy (your) friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine (your) eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay (kill) them with the sword.

Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.

And thou (you), Pashur, and all that dwell in thine (live in your) house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt (you shall) come to Babylon, and there thou shalt (you shall) die, and shalt (shall) be buried there, thou (you), and all thy (your) friends, to whom thou hast (you have) prophesied lies.

Jeremiah’s Complaint

O Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), thou hast (You have) deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art (You are) stronger than I, and hast prevailed (and have proven to be powerful): I am in derision daily (I am a laughingstock all day long), every one mocketh (mocks) me.

For since I spake (spoke), I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) was made a reproach (had expressed disapproval) unto me, and a derision (mockery), daily.

Then I said, I will not make mention of him (Him), nor speak any more in his (His) name. But his (His) word was in mine (my) heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing (patience and restrained), and I could not stay.

10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed (Perhaps he will be persuaded and deceived), and we shall prevail against him (and we will overcome him), and we shall take our revenge on him.

11 But the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) is with me as a mighty terrible one (One): therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

12 But, O Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) of hosts, that triest (You test) the righteous, and seest (see) the reins and the heart (the heart and the mind), let me see thy (Your) vengeance on them: for unto thee (you) have I opened my cause.

13 Sing unto the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), praise ye (you) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah): for he hath (He has) delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings (the news) to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee (you); making him very glad.

16 And let that man be as the cities which the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;

17 Because he slew me not from the womb (Because he did not kill me before my birth); or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.

18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

No Deliverance from Babylon

21 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

Enquire, I pray thee (you), of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh (is making) war against us; if so be that the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.

Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye (you) say to Zedekiah:

Thus saith (says) the Lord God (Adonai Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) of Israel (Yisrael); Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye (you) fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

And I will smite (strike) the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast (animal): they shall die of a great pestilence.

And afterward, saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

And unto this people thou shalt (you shall) say, Thus saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

He that abideth (abides, remains) in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth (goes) out, and falleth (falls) to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah): it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Judgment of Judah’s Kings

11 And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye (you) the word of the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah);

12 O house of David, thus saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

13 Behold, I am against thee (you), O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah); which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith (says) the Lord (Adonai; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah): and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

WARNING from God (Yahuah) Himself: The Word of God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) warned that if we do not have His word abiding (remaining) in us, then we are NOT believers (saved)! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Read John 5:38:-

John 5:38 King James Version (KJV)
And ye (you) have not his word (His Word) abiding (remaining) in you: for whom he hath (He / Yahuah has) sent, him ye (Him you) believe not.

1 John 5:2 King James Version (KJV)
By this we know that we love the children of God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah), when we love God, and keep his (His) commandments.

James 1:22 King James Version (KJV)
But be ye (you) doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Galatians 6:7 King James Version (KJV)
Be not deceived; God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth (sows / puts in / plants / spreads), that shall he also reap (harvest / attain / get).

Beware lest any man (Beware, otherwise others may) spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit (deception), after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ (following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Mashiach).

1 Thessalonians 5:11 King James Version (KJV)
“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye (you) do.”

Hebrews 3:13 King James Version (KJV)
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Matthew 10:8 King James Version (KJV)
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye (you) have received, freely give.

John 3:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Jesus (Yahusha) answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly (seriously) say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God (Yahuah).

John 3:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuah) so loved the world, that he gave his (that He gave His) only begotten Son [Yahusha ha’Mashiach], that whosoever believeth in him (believes in Him) should not perish, but have everlasting (eternal) life.

17 For God (Elohim; 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / Yahuahsent not his (did not send His) Son into the world to condemn (disapprove) the world; but that the world through him (Him) might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him (believes [and] decided to trust Him [as personal Savior and Lord]) is not condemned: but he that believeth not believeth (but he that does not believe) is condemned already, because he hath (has) not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Yahusha ha’Mashiach).

Acts 4:12 King James Version (KJV)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
