The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

10 Verily, verily (Truly, truly), I say unto you, He that entereth (enters) not by the door into the sheepfold (sheep pen), but climbeth (climbs) up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

But he that entereth (enters) in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

To him the porter openeth (gatekeeper opens); and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth (calls) his own sheep by name, and leadeth (leads) them out.

And when he putteth (puts) forth his own sheep, he goeth (goes) before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

This parable spake (spoke) Yahusha unto them: but they understood not (but they did not understand) what things they were which he spake unto (He spoke to) them.

Then said Yahusha unto them again, Verily, verily (Truly, truly), I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

All that ever came before me (Me) are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

I am the door: by me (Me) if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10 The thief cometh not, but for to (The thief comes only in order to) steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (plentifully).

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his (gives His) life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling (hired man), and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth (sees) the wolf coming, and leaveth (leaves) the sheep, and fleeth (flees): and the wolf catcheth (catches) them, and scattereth (scatters) the sheep.

13 The hireling (hired man) fleeth (flees), because he is an hireling (hired man), and careth (cares) not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my (My) sheep, and am known of mine (Mine).

15 As the Father knoweth me (knows Me), even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold (flock): them also I must bring, and they shall hear my (My) voice; and there shall be one fold (flock), and one shepherd.

17 Therefore doth (does) my Father love me (Me), because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18 No man taketh (takes) it from me (Me), but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

20 And many of them said, He hath (has) a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him (Why listen to Him)?

21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath (has) a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

Yahusha Claims to Be the Son of Elohim

22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication (Feast of Dedication), and it was winter.

23 And Yahusha walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

Solomon Asks for Wisdom

1 And Solomon (Shelomoh) the son of David (Dawid) was strengthened in his kingdom, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah his Elohim was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

Then Solomon spake unto (spoke to) all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel (Yisrael), the chief of the fathers.

So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of Elohim, which Moses the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah had made in the wilderness.

But the ark of Elohim had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

And Solomon went up thither (there) to the brasen (bronze) altar before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

In that night did Elohim appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee (you).

And Solomon said unto Elohim, Thou hast shewed (You have shown) great mercy unto David my father, and hast (has) made me to reign (rule) in his stead (place).

Now, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah Elohim, let thy (your) promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast (you have) made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy (your) people, that is so great?

11 And Elohim said to Solomon, Because this was in thine (your) heart, and thou hast (you have) not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine (your) enemies, neither yet hast (have) asked long life; but hast (has) asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself (yourself), that thou mayest (you may) judge my people, over whom I have made thee (you) king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee (you); and I will give thee (you) riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee (you), neither shall there any after thee (you) have the like.

13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

17 And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an (a) horse for an (a) hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

Preparations for Building the Temple

2 And Solomon determined to build an (a) house for the name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah, and an (a) house for his kingdom.

And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst (you did) deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an (a) house to dwell (live) therein, even so deal with me.

Behold, I build an (a) house to the name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah my Elohim, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah our Elohim. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

And the house which I build is great: for great is our Elohim above all gods.

But who is able to build him an (a) house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an (a) house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy (your) servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy (your) servants,

Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great.

10 And, behold, I will give to thy (your) servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

11 Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah hath (has) loved his (His) people, he hath (He has) made thee (you) king over them.

12 Huram said moreover, Blessed be 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah Elohim of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath (has) given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an (a) house for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah, and an (a) house for his kingdom.

13 And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father’s,

14 The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful (skillful) to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy (your) cunning men, and with the cunning (skilled) men of my master David thy (your) father.

15 Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my master hath (has) spoken of, let him send unto his servants:

16 And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt (you shall) need: and we will bring it to thee (you) in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt (you shall) carry it up to Jerusalem.

17 And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an (a) hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred (153,600).

18 And he set threescore and ten thousand (70,000.00) of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand (80,000.00) to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred (3,600) overseers to set the people a work.

Solomon Builds the Temple

3 Then Solomon began to build the house (House) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor (threshing floor) of Ornan the Jebusite.

And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of Elohim. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits (60 cubits / 90 feet), and the breadth twenty cubits.

And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an (a) hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

And the greater house he cieled (furnished) with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.

And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.

(NOTE: cherubim (noun) = An angel with human, animal or birdlike characteristics to protect holy areas and are intimately associated with the holiness of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 / YHUH / Yahuah the Most High Almighty One and Only Creator and the divine throne)

And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10 And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold.

11 And the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12 And one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

13 The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.

14 And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.

15 Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

16 And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an (a) hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
