Paul Preaches in Thessalonica

17 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Opening and alleging (Explaining and pointing out [scriptural evidence]), that Christ (the Messiah / the Anointed One) must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus (Yeshua / Yahushua), whom I preach unto you, is Christ (the Messiah / the Anointed One).

And some of them believed, and consorted (associated) with Paul and Silas; and of the devout (God-fearing) Greeks a great multitude (crowd), and of the chief women not a few.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows (thugs) of the baser sort (market place), and gathered a company (formed a mob), and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren (fellow believers) unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither (here) also;

Whom Jason hath (has) received: and these all do contrary (opposite) to the decrees (official orders) of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus (Yeshua / Yahushua).

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

Paul and Silas in Berea

10 And the brethren (brothers) immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither (there) went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither (there) also, and stirred up the people.

14 And then immediately the brethren (fellow believers) sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode (stayed) there still.

15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

BOOK ONE (Psalms 1-71)

1 Blessed is the man that walketh (walks) not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth (stands) in the way of sinners, nor sitteth (sits) in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth (does) he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth (brings) forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth (does) shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth (drives) away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth (knows) the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish (suffer eternal death in hell).

Background music:-

2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing (Why are the nations in an uproar [in turmoil against God], And why do the people devise a vain and hopeless plot)?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

Let us break their bands asunder (apart), and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth (sits) in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision (mockery).

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath (extreme anger), and vex (terrify) them in his sore displeasure.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath (has) said unto me, Thou art (You are) my Son; this day have I begotten thee (You).

Ask of me, and I shall give thee (you) the heathen (nations) for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt (You shall) break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt (you shall) dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye (you) kings: be instructed, ye (you) judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye (you) perish from the way, when his wrath (His extreme anger) is kindled (flamed) but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him (Him).

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

3 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou (You), O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine (my) head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked (awakened); for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten (You have stricken) all mine (my) enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast (You have) broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto (belongs to) the Lord: thy (May Your) blessing is upon thy (Your) people. Selah.

FOOTNOTES

THE ORGINAL HEBREW NAME OF THE MESSIAH

The video below is done by a Jewish Hebrew language lady teacher. Her name is Ayelet. She is born and raised in Israel. Hebrew is her native language. In this video, we will be able to learn the correct pronunciation of the Messiah’s original name in Hebrew:-

VIDEO: Jesus – Yeshua in Hebrew – Hebrew Word of the Day (59 secs) – by The WORD in HEBREW

In Hebrew: מָשִׁיחַ (H4899) = Mashiach = Messiah (English) / Anointed One

In Hebrew (full name): יְהוֹשׁוּעַ הַמָשִׁיחַ = Yahushua Ha-Mashiach = Yahushua The Anointed One.

NOTES:-

1. Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (H3442 = He will save) is a shortened form of Yehoshooah / Yahushua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H3091 = God / Yah saves).

2. Yehoshooah as spelt in this manner depicts Joshua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H3091 = yeh-ho-SHOO-ah) adds Hosea, יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (H1954 = deliver / salvation). Therefore, Yehoshooah / Yahushua means God is Salvation God / Yah saves.

3. Yahushua as spelt in this manner depicts that the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה / יָהּ (H3050) as in John 5:43).

4. Yahusha as spelt in this manner depicts that the Messiah came in the name of His Father, Yah יה / יָהּ (H3050) adds Yasha יָשַׁע (H3467 )

In Greek = Christos

In English = Christ =  Messiah = Anointed One
