1) QUESTION: WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A TEACHER OF THE WORD OF GOD?
ANSWER:-
Besides being set apart as God’s vessel learning the Word of God diligently themselves, they must be humble, teachable and teach a SOUND DOCTRINE from the Holy Bible. A sound doctrine (teaching) = an accurate principle presented without any alteration.
We pray that this article and guidelines will be of help to everyone.
First and foremost, the Word of God clearly states that only those who does the will of God (God’s wish/desire/purpose) can enter the kingdom of heaven? Below is the scripture reference:-
Matthew 7:21 King James Version (KJV)
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Jesus Himself said that He was sent down from God for Him to do God’s will:-
John 6:38 King James Version (KJV)
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
There are many ways to serve our heavenly Father in doing His will. Yeshua came to teach us about God and what God requires us to do (doing God’s will). Therefore we must do the same.
QUESTION 1.1: How did Yeshua do the will of God?
ANSWER 1.1: By obeying all God’s commandments, statues and instructions. He was always teaching about God and how to be righteous as well as healing the sick. He was always teaching to save souls. Nothing more. Nothing less.
QUESTION 1.2: How do we do the will of God?
ANSWER 1.2: Just do as Yeshua Hamashiach had taught us. He was teaching and healing the sick. Follow exactly what He did. Follow exactly what He taught. Do not add anything else. Do not teach what Yeshua did not teach. Do not take out (omit) anything that is in the Word of God. Do not teach what is not required or important.
Is it every believer’s duty to share the gospel / the good news (John 3:16-17) and to teach so others can grow or mature spiritually as well, to make disciples, to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We have seen that many are afraid to perform this duty because:-
- Some are shy and so do not have the confidence to teach or to share the gospel. (NOTE: Sharing of points is not preaching because it is open for discussion.)
- Some had been intimidated by others believers who had warned them about the following verse:-
James 3:1 (King James Version – KJV)
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
James 3:1 (New King James Version)
3 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
There is no doubt that it is a very heavy responsibility to be a teacher of the Word of God but every believer MUST mature spiritually and not be stagnant to teach others. Do not be afraid to grow and help others to grow because this is what God requires us to do.
We are to obey and practice the Word of God. We must learn to be doer, not just listeners or hearers of the Word of God. We are saved to save others. When it is time to grow, we must grow.
Teachers of the Word of God should continue to learn from our heavenly Father, Lord Yeshua and Holy Spirit themselves. Be humble to learn from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who have better knowledge than us as well. Be teachable. We learn from one another:-
Proverbs 27:17 (King James Version – KJV)
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Let us look at the Scriptures below which says that we must grow spiritually:-
1 Peter 2:2 (King James Version – KJV)
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby
Ephesians 4:15 (King James Version – KJV)
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ
Therefore, we MUST grow spiritually and do not be afraid to share with others what the you have learnt from the Word of God because it is written in the Word of God that we must share the gospel:-
Matthew 28:19-20 (King James Version – KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The Scripture above did not say that we must first go to a Christian seminary school, get a certificate, get a degree or even be pastors first before we can share the gospel or the good news. We can share the gospel or the good news as soon we accept Yeshua to be our Lord and Savior. However, we recommend those who have the passion to teach the Word of God to first study it well themselves before they start to teach. The Word of God must be taught carefully. Teachers must not add anything else to it or omit anything that is in the Word of God.
2) QUESTION: CAN WE ADD TO OR SUBTRACT FROM GOD’S WORD?
ANSWER: NO! God forbids adding to or subtracting from His written word, the Holy Bible.
Studies have shown that many newer Bible versions have been tampered (altered). This is why we are now in the process of replacing other versions of the scriptures into King James Version. Do bear with us as we have many pages to work on.
Scriptures on the above mentioned warnings from God Himself:-
Deuteronomy 12:32 King James Version (KJV)
32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
In Revelation 22:18–19, those who add are condemned to plagues, and those who delete are said to die eternally.
Revelation 22:18-19 King James Version (KJV)
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Therefore, even year, months and dates cannot be added, especially for festivals that is not mentioned in the Word of God.
EXAMPLE: Celebrate the birth of Christ every day (365 days), not just once a year on December 25th. December 25th is never mentioned in the entire Word of God as the birthday of our Saviour Yeshua Hamashiach. Do respect God’s wish to keep the real birthday as a secret. He has His reason to do so.
3) QUESTION: WHAT IS THE MAIN CHARACTERISTIC THAT A BIBLE TEACHER SHOULD HAVE?
ANSWER: All that is mentioned in the Fruit of the Spirit.
Never be jealous of other teachers or ministers. Never despise / scorn / laugh at anyone with whichever method they use to share the gospel. Always remember that God resists / opposes the proud (James 4:6). Beware of those who like to despise / scorn / laugh at anyone who thinks highly of themselves or their own ministries. It is a kind of a spiritual pride that all of us must never fall into as ministers. See the scriptures below:-
Romans 12:3-16 (King James Version – KJV)
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
(NOTE: condescend = to stoop or descend; to let one’s self down; to submit; to waive the privilege of rank or dignity; to accommodate one’s self to an inferior; be courteous)
(NOTE: conceits = arrogance, self exaltation)
1 Thessalonians 5:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
1 Thessalonians 5:11-13 Amplified Bible
11 Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to appreciate those who diligently work among you [recognize, acknowledge, and respect your leaders], who are in charge over you in the Lord and who give you instruction,
13 and [we ask that you appreciate them and] hold them in the highest esteem in love because of their work [on your behalf]. Live in peace with one another.

4a) QUESTION: What are the subjects / topics that teachers of the Word of God must teach?
ANSWER #4a:-
PLENTY TO TEACH FROM THE WORD OF GOD ITSELF ACTUALLY. Understanding the timeline will help a lot.
Read the Word of God daily and learn carefully word by word. Each word is important. Read the Word of God entirely from cover to cover systematically. We have a 1 year reading plan (with audio, background music as well as on-the-spot meaning for archaic and difficult words) if you wish to follow: https://www.explorationsunited.com/bible365.
Many people make the mistake of doing the ‘cherry picking’ style of reading (jumping here and there, picking only the verses to suit their needs). If you are doing this, you will never be able to complete reading the entire Bible no matter how many years you have been a Christian.
And if we do not continue in reading the Word of God, we cannot be passed as Yeshua’s disciples. We can only be passed as His disciples when we continue to read the Word of God:-
John 8:31 (King James Version – KJV)
Then said Yeshua to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed”
Even if you have read the entire Bible before, continue to read it systematically because there are always new revelations by our heavenly Father and we keep growing each day.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend the King James Version as many new versions Bibles had been tampered (altered).

- Loving one another so everyone will know that we are His disciples:-
John 13:34-35 (King James Version – KJV)
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
- The importance of wearing the WHOLE / FULL ARMOR OF GOD and praying always:-
Ephesians 6:10-20 King James Version (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,

and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised”
- Things that God hates:-

James 3:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

And does not abandon His saints (faithful ones);
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked will [in time] be cut off.
There are many more topics in the Word of God. Please make sure that you create an awareness of the importance of reading the entire Bible. We cannot afford to miss out on all the commandments, statues and instructions from our heavenly Father to be able to do His will well.
4b) QUESTION: Which are the books the teachers must use to teach?
ANSWER 4b):-
Only one book to use and that is the Word of God (the Holy Bible). Using other books as guide is not wrong but be EXTREMELY CAREFUL because there are many false prophets / teachers / pastors that have gone out into the world. Beware of teachings that do not comply with the teachings in the Word of God. The slightest twist of one word can change the entire meaning. It is Biblical for us to test every spirit that is within everyone:-
1 John 4:1 King James Version (KJV)
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 King James Version (KJV)
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
We need to read the Bible and know the Bible well enough ourselves. Do not depend on anybody to teach us the Bible. Do your own Bible Study. Always counter check for errors with the Word of God yourself whatever that has been taught by others. Even genuine typing errors can happen sometimes.
We will not be able to know everything that God, Yeshua and Holy Spirit is teaching us unless we read the Bible entirely ourselves. Always pray for wisdom and understanding before reading the Word of God. Pray for spiritual eyes to be opened.
4c) QUESTION: What is a sound doctrine?
ANSWER #4c:-
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be very careful not to teach topics that does not profit or is vain (Titus 3:9). Teach sound doctrine. The Word of God has a guideline for sound doctrine (Titus 2:1). Do not go beyond that. See the Scriptures below:-
Titus 3:1-9 King James Version (KJV)
1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Titus 2:1-15 (New King James Version)
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise (to regard with contempt or scorn) thee.
6) DO NOT MAKE MANY BOOKS FOR YOUR STUDENTS/DISCIPLES:-
In fact, the Word of God warns us about making many books. So be very careful teachers of the Word of God. We are not supposed to wear the students/disciples out by making too many books for them to study or learn. There are already many things to learn from the Word of God itself.
IMPORTANT: Students, beware of teachers who make too many books because you will be distracted instead of doing God’s will. See the Scripture below that warns us on this matter:-
Ecclesiastes 12:12 (King James Version – KJV)
And further, by these, my son, be admonished (be warned): of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecclesiastes 12:12 (Amplified Bible)
12 But beyond this my son, [about going further than the words given by one Shepherd], be warned: the writing of many books is endless [so do not believe everything you read], and excessive study and devotion to books is wearying to the body.
7) SUMMARY
We must teach nothing more, and nothing less than what we are required to teach as how we are taught in the Word of God.
We pray that this guide will be of help to everyone.
Thank you for reading.
PRAYER: Father God, thank you for giving me the duty to go share the gospel, to teach and to make disciples. Please help me to grow spiritually so I can help others to grow as well.
